Christine Parkhurst is originally from Kentucky and currently resides in Cassopolis, Michigan. She began learning to work with oils on canvas at the age of 13 and has held a lifetime passion for the medium. Parkhurst began selling her works in the 1990s in Indiana and has since won awards for her works in Indiana and Michigan, including two Best of Show awards granted to her through the past decade at juried shows in both states. She taught oil painting at the Elkhart Art League in 2001 and offered private lessons throughout the years to beginning artists. In past years she became known for her fantasy themed paintings and recently began a series of large botanical themed pieces created with the home interior in mind. Parkhurst displayed her botanical series in November, 2017 at an exclusive show through Elkhart Art League along with her original instrumental music playing during the show. She hopes to inspire others both visually and through her music which she plans to have available online by the end of this year. "In an age where life seems to move so fast and we are constantly tethered to technology, I hope to offer a space in time for reflection, inspiration and repose." Says Parkhurst. Some of Parkhurst's most recent works are available at N.Wirt Design.
